'Creative death' in Darfur, The cure may be as deadly as the crisis

In Darfur, things have fallen apart terribly, and putting them back together again won't be easy -- no matter what treaties are signed or peacekeeping forces sent in.

There are so many ruined lives in Darfur, especially of women raped and impregnated, of children without parents, of witnesses to the slaughter of loved ones. Eric Reeves, the inspired American activist who has done so much to call attention to the plight of refugees and victims of state-sponsored Janjaweed violence in Darfur, writes in the New Republic that "it will be a long time before life in Darfur returns to normal -- if it ever does."
