Genocide in Darfur demands quick action

Last year our church started a program called Saturday Night at the Movies. We chose movies that would inspire us to look at the world and its problems with new ideas and new visions.One of the movies we watched was "Darfur -- A 21st Century Genocide." Do Americans have any idea that the United Nations has declared this genocide to be the worst humanitarian crisis in the world today? 400,000 men, women, and children have been killed in Darfur. As is usually the case, Americans have very little knowledge at all of just how bad this is ... Our president, at the urging of his conservative Christian backers, pledged to work to find a solution a few years ago, but then he was quickly distracted back to his warmongering and forgot all about it .. so sad
